R3.5 Earthwool Ceiling Insulation
Most Australian homes feature ceilings lined with plasterboard or similar materials. While these materials serve their structural purpose well, they offer little in terms of insulation. As a result, heat from the roof space can quickly transfer into the living areas below, making the home uncomfortable. The most effective way to address this issue is by installing ceiling insulation.
R3.5 Insulation is Best for New or Existing Homes
Earthwool R3.5 Thermal Insulation Batts are simple to install in both new and existing homes. For new builds, it’s typically easiest to install the batts from underneath before the ceiling lining is in place. In existing homes, installation is usually done through the ceiling space, accessed via a manhole. Earthwool ceiling insulation is available in a range of widths and thicknesses to match standard joist heights and spacings.
The batts are supplied in compressed packs for convenient transport and storage, and are packaged in durable poly bags that include easy-to-follow installation instructions. For DIY installers, we recommend watching our instructional videos beforehand—they’re full of practical tips and guidance.
R3.5 Knauf Insulation Batts are suitable for both timber and metal frame applications in residential buildings. In addition to thermal benefits, they also help reduce external noise entering the home. As with all Earthwool products, these ceiling batts are odourless, non-combustible, rot-proof, non-hygroscopic, resistant to vermin, and will not promote the growth of mould, fungi, or bacteria.

OG Insulation Insulation Returns Policy
You may return unused insulation to OG Insulation, provided the following conditions are met:
- Returns must be made within 30 days of purchase.
- Products must be in original packaging and in resalable condition. We do not accept returns on wet or damaged items.
- A restocking fee of 15% applies to glasswool, polyester, and rockwool insulation.
- Foam and rigid insulation products will incur a 30% restocking fee.
Important note:
- Custom-made items are not eligible for return or refund.
- Some suppliers restrict returns in specific states—check the product page for details.
