Although R2.5 Earthwool Sound Shield Insulation is designed as a wall insulation product, it is also ideal for underfloor use—especially in Australia’s colder mountainous regions, where the lack of underfloor insulation is particularly noticeable.
These R2.5 batts are 90mm thick, matching the typical thickness of underfloor joists. When floor joists are spaced evenly at 450mm from center to center, the R2.5 Earthwool Insulation Batts fit snugly between them without needing strapping or tape to stay in place. However, to ensure the insulation remains securely fixed throughout the home’s lifespan, it is strongly recommended to install strapping or a similar support perpendicular to the joists beneath them.

You may return unused insulation to OG Insulation, provided the following conditions are met:
- Returns must be made within 30 days of purchase.
- Products must be in original packaging and in resalable condition. We do not accept returns on wet or damaged items.
- A restocking fee of 15% applies to glasswool, polyester, and rockwool insulation.
- Foam and rigid insulation products will incur a 30% restocking fee.

- Custom-made items are not eligible for return or refund.
- Some suppliers restrict returns in specific states—check the product page for details.
