Available Options
Performance & Handling
Earthwool® insulation is non-combustible and meets the Australian Standard AS1530.1:1994.
All Earthwool® products offer some acoustic performance due to the natural sound-absorbing properties of glasswool.
Earthwool® insulation:
- Does not attract vermin or insects
- Should not be compressed, as compression reduces R-Value and can cause recovery issues
Comfort & Manufacturing Innovation
Earthwool® integrates new technologies for better comfort:
- Knauf Insulation’s proprietary fiberisation process – creates longer strands, reducing irritation.
- ECOSE® Technology – provides a softer, less dusty, and less “crunchy” feel than traditional glasswool.
The distinctive brown colour results naturally from ECOSE® Technology’s sustainable resin system, developed after five years of research and innovation.
Note: If exposed to UV radiation, Earthwool® may lighten in colour, but performance remains unaffected.
Environmental Impact & Certifications
ECOSE® Technology uses a natural resin that’s less energy-intensive than traditional binders, replacing petro-based chemicals with renewable organic materials.
Earthwool® products undergo rigorous environmental evaluation and consistently outperform traditional glasswool insulation in sustainability and performance.
Certifications:
- BRANZ appraised – complies with Australian Standards
