The name says it all — CSR Bradford’s R3.1 Insulation is specifically engineered to reduce and control the spread of unwanted noise both into and within your home. While the “R-3.1” rating refers to the product’s thermal resistance, not its soundproofing ability, there is often a correlation between the two. This is because thicker insulation generally provides better sound reduction, and higher R-Values typically mean greater thickness.
At 110mm thick, the R3.1 SoundScreen batt is among the highest-performing acoustic wall insulation options available. However, before placing your order, be sure your wall cavities can accommodate the thickness — compressing a 110mm batt into a 90mm cavity is not recommended and can reduce its effectiveness.
