Acoustic R2.5 insulation reduces noise transfer by up to 75%
Installing SoundScreen acoustic R2.5 insulation batts is an effective way to reduce noise transfer by up to 75%, helping to create a quieter, more peaceful living environment. These batts are ideal for use in internal walls or between floors in double-storey homes, where they block unwanted sound. For best results, SoundScreen should be installed during construction or renovation. While retrofitting is possible, it can be costly as it typically requires removing floorboards or ceiling plaster to access the cavities.
Thanks to their versatility, SoundScreen batts are a valuable addition to any room, especially where sound control is important—such as home theatres, bedrooms, ensuites, and laundries.

Installing Tips from OG Insulation
Installing glasswool insulation is relatively straightforward, as long as proper safety precautions are followed. A sharp, long-bladed knife works well for cutting insulation batts, with timber studs and joists often serving as convenient cutting surfaces. Always be cautious around electrical wiring and never cut toward your hand or body.
A retractable utility knife with snap-off blades is ideal for the job. Over time, the blade will dull with use. To maintain a clean cut, installers typically snap off the blunt tip by wedging it against a stud or noggin at an intersection point.
